Glutathione is an antioxidant used by our liver (filtration) in phase 2 detox. If your liver has many substrates to filter but it doesnt have enough PHASE 2 help, you will have toxin intermediates "stuck in limbo" and unable to leave the body. The build up of intermediates stresses the body and is associated with a rise in serum liver enzymes.
