PEPPER- TURKEY BURGERS

PEPPER- TURKEY BURGERS

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb 99% extra-lean ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 zucchini, grated
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 avocado
  • Olive oil spray
  • Handful of chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 F
  2. Place all ingredients (except avocado) into a large mixing bowl and combine. Season meat with red pepper flakes (if desired for extra spice)
  3. Form meat into 3-9 patties, about 1 – 1 ½ inches thick (Option to make "sliders" to cook faster and avoid falling apart)
  4. Place a large skillet on the stove on medium and use an olive oil spray to coat the pan
  5. Brown the burger patties on each side, cooking for about 5 minutes a side
  6. move turkey burgers to casserole dish and bake in oven at 350 F for 15 minutes- turn over to cook for additional 15 minutes
  7. Top each serving with 1/4-1/3 avocado, serve, and enjoy!
